At Breakwater Design Studio, we have worked with just about every industry you can think of… sports and athletics, restaurants, galleries and museums, spas, retail establishments, hotels, real estate developments, construction, landscaping, law firms, medicine, software developers, investment houses, art historians, publishing, corporate giants, in-the-kitchen start-ups… I know I’m missing a few…. we even once developed the branding for a company that turns dirt into glue… That’s right, DirtGlue.

Just to follow-up on yesterday’s post… http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticle08.asp?xfile=/data/theuae/2008/September/theuae_September619.xml§ion=theuae

dolphins which have been flown in from the Solomon Islands…… Donald Trump is one of several international names who have already staked out

Hank has returned to his Water Mill field for the annual Pumpkintown celebration. Kids, wear your sneaks, puffy vests and sunscreen (for the nose). Parents, be prepared to stand around while your Golden Pear purchases make you vibrate. Passers by, be prepared to sit still among pumpkin rubberneckers taking in the scene. Our son Will is not yet old enough to enjoy Pumpkintown, but we are rather intrigued….

This year Hank returns with his Maze of Maize. This idea a–mazes me… I’m sure it’s fun… but as a product of the ’80′s (aka warped mind) and not originally from an area that celebrates dried stalks… I can’t help but get thrown back to a more simpler time when….. we avoided the corn.
In other news… The Town of Southampton Rocks, but that doesn’t reall mean anything (Read More…), and a Designer’s procrastination… The Pattern Foundry.
Jeff Koons at Versailles… what a brilliant combination. I bet Louis XIV would have loved his work… Just imagine the Opening that Marie Antoinette would have thrown. Opulence (and delusion) in it’s greatest form. We love it.

For real– when was the last time that Alaska was mentioned so many times in a given day let alone a half hour. We [try to] refrain from political stance on this bloggedy-blog, but given unavoidable current events and the Newbie-Infamous Running Mate, think…. how many times a day did you wonder/read about/hear/smell/take an interest in Alaska before 2 weeks ago?

I thought about Alaska a few times in years past – that it might be nice to investigate… to see what it’s all about. But it’s very cold and far away. I really liked the movie Mystery Alaska – and heard that it was a true story, but not so sure….can you tell that I’m trying to avoid stereotyping?
Asking our Senior Graphic Designer, Patrick… Alaska = salmon, king crab, hunting, cruise lines, darkness, kodiak bears, awesome ……palin (fair enough).
The pictures being flashed across screens show a typically normal American setting… just in a contsant state of melt…. Alaska calls itself “The Last Frontier”. Last, meaning final? How starwarsesque… we’ll try not to over analyze.
