Call it Fate… Call it Karma…

I did have a fun post coming today. But whilst we slumbered – FOR THE BIRDS WON AN AWARD!

Yep – that’s me… Twirling again.

Move over fun post… Would you look at this cute thing… It’s so feminine, yet wreaking of the 80′s angst of denim and hair spray… That’s it. Where is my white leather jacket?

Thanks Passion 4 Eating! You are my new souvenir!

lovelyblog.jpgAs I suddenly become shy and awkward…. all hunched down in the corner, cheeks on fire. If only I could get past this part…. Quick – Robin to the Blog File…

[in no particular order] I pass One Lovely Blog Award to:

Oh, but there are RULES: Call it Chain Blogging, but I’ll bite. Nothing wrong with a good old pyramid… Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the
person who has granted the award, and their blog link. Pass the award
to 8 other blogs that you’ve recently discovered. (Do this and you will be lucky for the rest of your life. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.)

It is really hard for me to believe that this pup is 10&1/2 years old. He’s been through quite a bit. Numerous injured paws–he once even caught a stick in the fashion of a sword swallow and had to have stitches down the back of his tongue. He was a mess, but he woke up the next morning raring to go. Two years ago he landed in an odd way after a catch, injuring his back left leg. We thought his days of serious play were over, but he modified the way he holds his leg and acts like nothing ever happened.

He’s completely stretched out on our couch right now–not wanting to move until the rest of the house wakes up. Bluer than the bluest calm, bluer than the bluest swoon and bluer than the bluest breeze. The Bluedog.

Dear Valued Readers and Angry Enthusiasts

Our commenting tool seems to be suffering from some sort of quarter life crisis… Thank you to all that emailed/tweeted me both in peace and in fury over the situation… We are mending and should be better soon.

We are also aware that some images from our older posts have disappeared. Well, the move from Typepad to Movable Type was smooth, but the box with the old images must have bounced from the truck bed and we are retracing our steps to recover.

As always, thank you for your patience. Please hold your thoughts.

Quick note…

This morning….. While responding to 12 emails, eating greek yogurt, perusing my google reader, procrastinating on facebook and drinking coffee (of course) I also received a call requesting a reference for a former employee.

The individual in question was a good employee – for a while. Then things went sour. Not sure why… not sure how. We pride ourselves on being intelligent, friendly, laid-back – and most importantly fun. At any rate – circumstances resulted in a negative vibe… thus effecting work and eventual termination. It wasn’t easy – it was painful and traumatizing. I offered my hand in any reference — but then…

  1. It was brought to my attention just how much this person was taking advantage of me.
  2. This individual’s significant other called and issued … shall we say – not so nice words.
  3. This individual’s significant other called and apologized but added that they had “jumped the gun”.
  4. This individual took projects and posted them online as if they were solely responsible for the design work.
  5. After requests to remove these projects, nothing has been done.
  6. Since nothing has been done – we are looking at other request options that may not be so nice.

So… now I have to make a judgement call. It’s the holidays, and jobs are not that easy to come by these days… so I’m inclined to forgive and forget… but how much of a push-over do you (and you know who you are) think I am?
